concrete masonry has excellant fire resistant capabilities which allow the material to be reused after a fire. It is wise to have a building inspector check the structure for soundness. For more information you can call Mr. Jeff Greenwald with the National Concrete Masonry Association. Mr. Greenwald is responsible for fire codes within the masonry industry.
