I am building a new house with a concrete block chimney. The architect had called for stucco parging or dryvit to cover the exterior block. The dryvit is very expensive to install and I am concerned that the stucco will not adequately hide the seams in the block over the long term as I have seen instances where the outline of block is evident after a few years due to water penetration. Does anyone have any suggestions of other materials or methods for me?
