Have a 35 year old car port with cement block walls. The bottom 4 courses (4 block high) are disintegrating, i.e. blocks are loosing their surface material. Am very concernted that the block wall will collapse, and the car port roof will cave in. What is the cause? What do I need to do? Can the bottom 4 courses be replaced without tearing down the entire walls?
