Whoa, is that really true? That parging the outside of the blocks is strong? I parge blocks pretty often, just as a finish,(I do stucco for a living) but it never occured to me that it would contribute much to the integrity of the wall. Could someone explain this to me? What about the tendency I've seen for the wall to crack and break the parging?
