I have a customer with an 8' high retaining wall previously scratch and color coated. The bottom 4' of the wall face is showing signs of efflorescence, some of the stucco is popping off, and there is also some spalling of the block face. Sprinklers do wet the area. There has been an unusual amount of rain here in the Los Angeles area this winter, and small slumpstone planter walls are also showing signs of efflorescence. The concrete swale behind the retaining wall (2' from the top) has settled leaving a 3/4" gap at the wall. The gap will be repaired using backer rod and seal. I will also install weep tubes at the base of the wall. I plan to sandblast the area to repair the spalling as needed, seal and either re-colorcoat, or install culture stone to the area. Which products should I be looking at for spall repair and what sealers would be compatable with the culture stone or colorcoat installation? Also, do you have any preference for a top sealer after completion of the stone or color? Thanks in advance.
